THP EXTENSION “FIX” BILL

Assembly Bill 2163 (Mendoza), the bill that “fixes” last year’s THP extension bill(AB 1066 of 2009) by applying the additional time to THPS extended to THPs extended as well as expired in 08 and 09, has passed the State Assembly and the State Senate, and is on the desk of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has until midnight, Thursday September 30, to (1) sign the bill into law (2) veto(kill) the bill or (3) allow the bill to become law without his signature(rarely done.)

NEW CAL FIRE “HOT SAW FIRE PATROL LAW” GOES INTO EFFECT NOW: THREE SUMMERS IN CALFIRE’S “NORTHERN DISTRICT” ONLY Here, in its entirety, is the officially approved guidance document for the “Hot Saw Fire Patrol” which is in effect as of the summer logging season of May 1, 2010 (having become law on January 1). Associated California Loggers is mentioned in the CAL FIRE document; recall that your fellow loggers negotiated this policy down to a “pilot project” for three summers only (2010, 2011, 2012), hot saws only, and in CAL FIRE’s Northern District only:
